Meet the Makers

Painted Palms was created with one simple idea: creativity should be welcoming, inspiring and available to everyone.

Behind every workshop is a team of artists, makers and creative thinkers who are passionate about sharing what they love. From painters and printmakers to illustrators and designers, every member of our team brings their own experience, personality and artistic style into the studio.

Whether you're joining us for your very first workshop or returning to try something new, you'll always be welcomed by people who genuinely love helping others discover their creativity.

Because we believe the best workshops aren't just taught—they're shared.

Our Story

Painted Palms was founded by Ellie with a vision of creating more than just an art studio.

We wanted to build a space where people could slow down, disconnect from busy lives and reconnect with creativity. Somewhere that feels relaxed, inspiring and filled with good conversation.

What began as pop-up workshops has grown into a permanent creative home in the heart of Stroud, bringing together talented local artists to deliver experiences that inspire confidence as much as creativity.

Every workshop, every event and every exhibition is built around the same philosophy:

Everyone can create.

Our Resident Artists

The real magic happens because of the talented artists who lead our workshops.

Each artist has their own creative practice, bringing specialist skills and fresh perspectives into the studio. Whether they're teaching acrylic painting, printmaking, illustration or mixed media, they're here to guide, encourage and inspire every guest—no matter their experience.

Rather than following a script, every workshop reflects the personality and expertise of the artist leading it, making every visit to Painted Palms a little different.

Zoe Strickland is the artist and designer behind Zoe Clementines, creating mixed media and printmaking work inspired by the natural world. Her creative practice is rooted in ecology, exploring the relationship between people, place and the environment while championing sustainability, quality craftsmanship and locally sourced materials. Through her workshops, Zoe encourages participants to slow down, connect with nature and enjoy the creative process, providing an inspiring space to experiment, learn and create with confidence.
